About Me

My Music

I trained as a classical pianist for 15 years, and hold a Bachelor’s Music from the Australian National University, where I was awarded the Harold Allen Memorial Prize. After completing my studies I began producing and composing music for visual media. Since then, I’ve released multiple projects across independent and large-scale productions. I love collaboration across disciplines and am passionate about bringing projects to life through sound.

My practice examines the parallels between music of the past and music of the future, exploring how nostalgia and memory allow music to create fractured illusions, creating immersive works that feel disjointed from any one place.

My experience in Game Audio

I’ve been working full-time as a freelance composer and sound designer since 2022. I have extensive knowledge of audio middleware software Wwise and FMOD, as well as Unity and Unreal engine. I also have a strong understanding of adaptive and spatial audio systems.

Testimonials

Damian Merrick, Hydrarch

“Tom’s work on the music and sound design for Hydrarch’s game Gateworlds has been phenomenal. His music has really elevated the ambience and atmosphere of the varied worlds in the game, and produced tension and excitement at the right moments, all while respecting the game’s complex design requirements to balance between background and focus-of-attention elements. Additionally, his sound design work has been super efficient, effective and creative, and he has been instrumental in setting up our audio systems between Wwise and Unity. Tom is an outstanding guy who has been an absolute pleasure to work with – knowledgeable and proficient, while being incredibly flexible and adapting his work to assist with changing requirements throughout the development of the game. I would wholeheartedly recommend talking to Tom about any sound and music needs in your projects!“

Nic Dullow

“Tom’s music and sound design are incredibly expressive and full of character. He works efficiently, communicates clearly, and can adapt to pretty much any project or style.”
